The Consultation

Clinic at 52 Portsmouth Road

A homeopathic consultation is a meeting between the patient and the homeopath where the patients’ health and symptoms are discussed at length without the need for a physical examination.

Starting with the main complaint(s) which had brought the patient to the consultation, we would discuss when it started, what coincided with the onset of the problem, how it feels, etc., etc. Then we would cover other matters such as the patients’ medical history, family medical history, emotions and feelings, other physical symptoms and tendencies. This first consultation is my opportunity to collect as much information as I can to help me to select the remedy which matches the patient most closely but I always tell patient that it is perfectly alright if they choose not to answer some of my questions.

I would never advise a patient to stop taking drugs prescribed for them by their doctor, rather I would try to improve their condition alongside existing prescription drugs. It may be that in the future the patient may feel well enough to ask their GP about a reduction in their prescription drugs but that is something we could discuss when appropriate.

Everything which is discussed within the consultation is completely confidential. Detailed notes are taken during consultations and these are stored securely at all times.

The initial consultation would normally last approximately one and a half hours, after which tablets and/or liquid remedies would be supplied to the patient.

Follow-up consultations would normally last approximately 45 minutes.

Costs

First consultations £55
Follow-up consultations £35

This fee includes tablet and any liquid remedies prescribed during the consultation.

I am happy to visit a patient at home if they find it difficult to get to the clinic,  and there is an additional charge of £10 for this service.
