My Background
My interest in healthcare and alternative medicine really began in 1992 when my father suffered with a series of health problems and I believed that conventional medicine let him down badly. It is possible that if I had known then what I know now, things may have been very different. However, his death in 1993 and my mother’s health difficulties prompted me to start to seek out other avenues in dealing with illness and I began to explore various complementary medicines or therapies. In 1999, I had decided that homeopathy was the therapy I should pursue and I started my four year training to be a licenced homeopath.
I studied partly in London at the London Classical College of Homeopathy and partly in Chichester at the South Downs School of Homeopathy, qualifying in 2004. Since then, I have been working to develop my practice, based in Lee-on-the-Solent near Portsmouth, in Hampshire.
Since my qualification as a homeopath, I have been registered with the Society of Homeopaths which is the largest homeopathic registering body in the UK and provides continued professional educational support for member homeopaths. As a member of the Society, I am bound by their Code of Ethics and covered by Professional Indemnity Insurance. For further information about the Society, see www.homeopathy-soh.org.
In addition to my homeopathic qualifications, I am a Chartered Accountant and have a Psychology degree from Warwick University and a Certificate in the Fundamentals of Psychotherapy and Counselling from Regents College, London.
